Best rebates available through Nov. 16
By Sarah Huber – At Home Colorado

With fall upon us, now is the time to prepare your home heating system for the winter months, both to extend the efficiency of your HVAC system and ensure your family stays comfortable throughout the season.

One of the most trusted companies in the heating and cooling business, Northern Air, is continuing to provide exceptional service under its refreshed name, Northern Air. After more than three decades of serving Northern Air with integrity, quality, and trust, Northern Air is making strategic investments to enhance its service — including modernized operations and expanded capabilities — all founded on trusted relationships.

New Chapter, Elevated Commitment

“For 33 years, our customers have known us as one of the most dependable HVAC companies in the region,” said Jeff Richard, General Manager of Northern Air. “While our name is evolving, our values are not. This refresh strengthens our foundation to support employees, serve customers, and invest in the community for the long term.”

A family-owned business, Northern Air has a well-earned reputation from Fort Collins to Longmont, Windsor, and Loveland. In fact, Northern Air won Best AC/Heating Service this month in the Loveland Reporter-Herald’s 2025 Reader’s Choice Awards — a testament to the company’s ongoing commitment to elevating the standard of comfort in heating and cooling installation, maintenance, and repair.

Heating and Humidity Maintenance for Optimal Efficiency

The Northern Air team leverages time-tested expertise to accurately diagnose and resolve issues with air quality and temperature control in residential and commercial structures. As the fall season approaches, Northern Air is currently booking appointments to prepare homes for the cold weather soon to arrive in Colorado.

“We go through our 20-point checklist to make sure the furnace you have is the most efficient,” Richard said.

A precision furnace call includes replacing the filter, cleaning the entire furnace (including burners and venting), and checking for gas leaks or carbon monoxide.

As part of their seasonal tune-up, many Northern Air clients also opt to install a whole-home humidification system for health reasons. In Colorado’s especially dry climate, running a humidifier can stave off viruses and colds — as low humidity can irritate the nose and throat, deplete sinus health, and exacerbate dry skin.

To optimize your HVAC system, Northern Air offers a Peak Performance Maintenance Program, featuring spring and fall visits, discounts, and preferred scheduling.

“We take the guesswork out of the maintenance schedule and help keep your home comfortable all year long,” Richard said. “If you take care of your system, it will work longer and better for you.”

Heat Pumps for Efficiency – With Rebates Through Nov. 16

For top efficiency and value, Northern Air is seeing an increasing number of Colorado homeowners installing dual-fuel systems.

“This is the best of both worlds,” Richard explained.

Dual-fuel systems use both a heat pump and a gas furnace in tandem. “A heat pump will work great up until 30–35 degrees outside, then the gas furnace takes over when the temperatures dip below that,” he said. “This warms up a house very quickly.”

The highest rebates available for this system, starting at $2,250 per ton, are only available through Nov. 16, and installation appointments are filling up quickly.

Air Filters for Best System Performance

One of the most important things a homeowner can do to maintain their HVAC system may also be the most overlooked: changing the air filter.

“Your air filter should be changed at least twice a year,” Richard said.

Air filters remove dust and pollutants from the air, preventing them from spreading throughout the home. A clogged filter makes the system work harder, stressing components and increasing utility bills.

For individuals with allergies or health sensitivities, carbon-coated air filters can effectively remove odors, bacteria, pollen, and other particles. Richard recommends MERV-16 carbon-coated filters:

“95 feet of material in a 20-by-25 filter that can trap dirt and other pollutants from the air. This is going to catch everything.”

Unlike other filters, MERV-16 filters are typically changed once per year.

Book Now for a Fall Tune-Up

“Our neighbors know our reputation for quality service at a fair price, and they’ve come to know and trust our employees,” Richard said.

Several Northern Air technicians have been with the company for over 20 years.

Northern Air is now booking furnace maintenance and home humidification appointments.

Great company!! Our daughter’s furnace went out yesterday on the coldest day in the past 30 years! Not only did they respond promptly and replace the furnace today, they brought her space heaters last night! I highly recommend this company for their ethical practices, fair prices and commitment to our community! Thank you Nick, JJ and Brett for your help!!

The technician that came out, Ronnie, was absolutely wonderful. Extremely professional, quickly installed the new thermostat, and even showed me step by step how to set up the scheduling option on the new one.

Every time Northern Air sends someone out, the work is always done quickly and their prices are definitely more reasonable than most of the companies in the area!

Northern Air installed Central Air in my home in Fall 2021 (I did not have it). I also wanted a high efficiency furnace since my furnace was over 23 years old, even though it was still working. I got bids from 5-6 other HVAC companies. None of them were interested in installing a high efficiency furnace, even the companies recommended by “Efficiency Works” One company would not even install Central Air because they could not figure out how to install in my crawl space. Northern Air were great, efficient, neat, and had the best prices as well!

Bill, God bless him, came out on a 100 degree Sunday and fixed our A/C. He had great communication, was on time, and knew exactly what to do and saved the day! I appreciated his great attitude and kind spirit as well. The price was reasonable for a weekend visit. We will definitely use them again!
